This rutabaga (AKA swede) has an attractive purple top, an ivory base and fine yellow flesh. Laurentian looks great on winter market tables. The 10-15cm (4-6″) roots keep very well in winter storage, and add rich flavour to soups and stews. Laurentian rutabaga seeds have been grown in the Pacific Northwest for decades, and have proven themselves to be ideal for both farms and home gardeners. Rutabagas are a wonderful old-world winter standby.
