Grown for its unique parsnip-shaped roots. The white and fleshy roots measure 15-20 cm (6-8″) long and 5-10 cm (2-4″) in diameter. Requires moderately rich, moist, deep, well-drained soil. Create uniquely flavored soups and stews. Leaves can also be used as a seasoning or garnish.

Plant outside as soon as ground can be worked. Hasten seed germination by soaking seeds 24 hours in luke-warm water before planting.
