The earliest Stupice tomatoes are sometimes mild, but flavour rapidly improves. Stupice have wonderfully sweet flavour with a tangy finish that tastes great fresh but truly shines when cooked into sauces or baked into tarts. Stupice also makes terrific soup!
A variety originating in the Czech Republic, Stupice Organic tomato seeds were introduced to North America in 1976. Plants are a naturally disease resistant, compact indeterminate (vine) type with attractive potato leaves. Small fruits 5 cm (2″) in diameter grow in clusters on easy to manage vines 1.2-1.8 meters (4-6′) tall.
