Lettuce Prizehead – Ontario Seed Company
Lactuca sativa
A loose-leaved, bright green lettuce with a curly brownish-red edge. Excellent flavour and colour! Avoid planting too late in the spring as Prizehead tends to bolt in hot weather. Superb early spring and fall leaf lettuce.

How to Grow:
Sow seeds in successive crops every 2 weeks from April to August, as long as weather is cool. Sow about 3mm (1/8in) deep in rows 45cm (18in) apart. Space seeds 5mm (1/4in) apart. An even supply of moisture during the entire growth period is imperative for success. Harvest by pulling entire plant or by cutting at least 2.5cm (1in) above the base to allow for new leaf growth.Â
