Not a true mint at all, and does not spread. Tall multi-stem plants to 4 feet tall. The anise-flavoured leaves are heart-shaped with serrated edges and are eaten when young. The tall vivid blue/purple flower spikes are long-lived summer bloomers, making an excellent addition to your garden border. Loved by bees and beneficial insects, very drought resistant once established. Dried leaves are used for tea and as a seasoning. Easy from seed, start small seed indoors in early spring, plant in individual cells, and cover lightly. Will bloom the first year if started early.rs in early spring.
