Hyssop – Eagleridge Seeds
Hyssopus Officinalis
Classed as a herbaceous perennial this companion and medicinal plant forms small bushes with woody stems filled with small narrow leaves and topped with vivid purple/blue flower bracts to 6 inches tall. Loved by bees, it also attracts the cabbage moth pest away from the brassica patch. The scented foliage is similar to mint but more subtle. Harvested at the peak of blooming, the flowers and leaves are dried or used fresh for a very refreshing tea. This tea is also used to treat colds, has immune boosting properties and aids in the elimination of toxins. Small seed , plant indoors in early spring, no deeper than 1/8 of an inch.
