Gardener’s Notes:Â In early spring, when frost danger is over, plant in a sunny spot in fertile, well-drained soil. Sow 1/2 inch deep and 2-3 inches apart. Firm soil well over seeds. When seedlings emerge, carefully thin each cluster, leaving individual seedlings 3 inches apart, so roots have room to size up. Keep well watered for sweetest flavor. Make several sowings 3 weeks apart for a continual supply, plant again at midsummer for a fall crop.
